IATA Regulations Course
The UK Civil Aviation Authority requires that those involved in the shipment, packing, and acceptance of consignments of dangerous goods for air transport be successfully trained at an approved Course, and be retrained every two years thereafter.
The Course is based mostly on a detailed study of the text of the Regulations themselves. There are comprehensive written exercises at the end of each Section, and additional revision work overnight.
The Initial Course takes 3 days, and the Refresher 2 days. Both end with a formal examination.
This Course prepares Candidates for the quarterly OCR Examinations, to obtain the Certificate of Professional Competence for National and International Freight operations.
The Course is in three Parts. The first covers Core subjects for the Freight National, such as law, financial management, etc. The second covers Freight National transport, including licensing, construction and use, etc. The third covers Freight International, including Customs procedures, transport under CMR, etc.
The Course is timed so that the Examinations are taken immediately after the end.
