Full ADR Initial Course £530

Any driver involved in the transport of dangerous goods within UK and Europe is required by law to hold a valid ADR Driver Training Certificate, when in scope of the ADR Agreement. The driver must attend a Department for Transport (DfT) approved basic training course in order to be legally qualified to transport dangerous goods. As well as being SQA approved, this course is also JAUPT approved. ADR initial course qualifies for up to 28 hours of periodic CPC training (DCPC), meaning that you can claim Driver CPC tuition from the course

Chemfreight DGT Ltd was the first approved ADR training centre in the UK, with over 30 years of experience in ADR vocational training our instructors also hold the more advanced Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) qualification enabling them to both train DGSA candidates or act as a Specialist Consultant.

This course will take place in one of our classrooms in Runcorn and prepares candidates for the SQA ADR Vocational Training Certificate Examinations. As we are approved for the completion for the online exams set by Scottish Quali-fications Authority (SQA), you are likely to receive your exam results on the same day as completion and typically receive the ADR certificate within a week.

The ADR certificate is valid for 5 years and these now take the form of a card incorporating the drivers photograph. The qualification can be retained for another five years by attending a refresher course and passing the subsequent examinations. Chemfreight DGT run both Initial and Refresher ADR courses each month.

The full ADR initial training course (5 days) consists of 10 modules with SQA exams at £20 each, we can advise on the most cost-effective option of modules to suit your requirements. All courses must include the Core module and can be supplemented by specific class and vehicle type.

These are some of the typical module combinations that are taken on either ADR initial and Refresher courses:

• Core, Packages and Bulk, Classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9
• Core, Packages, and Class 2 gases (gas cylinders)
• Core, Packages, and Class 6 (clinical waste)

For tanker companies, such as petroleum and waste industry the following would be taken:

• Core, Class 3, and Tanks (petroleum)
• Core, Classes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and the Tanks (waste)

The modules taken is entirely your choice, please do not hesitate to contact us and we would be happy to discuss your specific requirements. ADR Initial Core, Packages and Classes Course £385

The driver of any vehicle which is displaying orange plates will need to have undertaken an ADR training course and have passed the examinations. The course duration is the first 3.5 days of an initial course, if you require all classes except Explosives and Radioactives

Drivers of vehicles that are not required to be marked, but still carrying dangerous goods are exempt from vocational training but still require instructional training, refer to our Carriage of Dangerous goods course for further details
